Privacy & Cookie Policy

Due to new legislation as at 25th May 2018,regarding Data Collection and Usage I have created a Privacy Policy for you to see what and how your personal data is used when visiting my blog, website or social media pages or when placing an order.  Not all parts of this document may apply to you but please do take the time to read.

My website is hosted by and my blog is hosted on the platform. Your data may be stored through’s or's data storage, databases and any or Yola applications you use. The same applies to Social Media Platforms you use and access through links from my blog or website.  All of these sites store your data on secure servers.  You may wish to review their respective privacy policies and links are provided at the end of this document so that you can. 

Information Collection And Use

Personal Data

While using this website, my blog or social media pages, you may choose to provide certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Data”). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name
  • Social Media account/Profile name
  • Cookies and Usage Data

When placing an order with me, usually via Facebook page or Messenger, payment is usually received via Paypal. The only information I collect from you is:  Full Name, Full Address and Email Address

When an order is placed face to face and local collection is the intended method I will only ask for:  Full Name and Contact number

Crochet patterns are purchased directly via my Ravelry store. Ravelry manage all orders internally including payment and electronic delivery of the pattern.  I am informed by email of your purchase which includes the Pattern name, total amount paid and Your name and email address.

Why do I collect this data?

I require your Full Name & Address so that I can send your parcel to the correct place of residence once it has been completed.  I need to be able to contact you via the phone, email or personal message via Messenger to arrange for collection if not being posted.

Ravelry require your email address in order to send you the pattern (I do not use this data).

Please note that I will not share your personal information with third-parties nor will I store information collected about your order or your visit to this blog/website for use other than for to send email notifications of new blog posts to subscribers and for them and previously mentioned linked platforms to analyse content performance (see Section: Website, Blog and Social Media Use below).

Do I share this data?

Your data is NOT shared with or sold to any outside individuals. For postal items I must share your Full Name & Delivery Address with the Royal Mail, this is so your parcel can be delivered to you. Again you may wish to view their privacy policy, a link is provided at the end of this document.

How do I keep your data secure?

Data stored digitally (by me)

Once your order has been received by you, your messages are deleted.  I do not store any personal information about you digitally. 

If you have paid by PayPal details of your payment is stored in your own account and mine.  This is securely stored by PayPal and subject to their Security & Privacy Policies, please review these policies, a link is provided at the end of this document.

The devices in my possession that have access to my Facebook/Instagram, Pinterest, PayPal, Ravelry, WordPress and Yola accounts are as follows:

Samsung Laptop – Password Protected, Samsung Tablet – Pin Protected, Samsung Smartphone – Pin Protected.  I employ security measures on all of my devices to ensure data is stored securely.

Data stored as a hard copy

I write your order details down in my notebook along with your name. Once the order is complete and your items received this is destroyed. A record of the item, date and total amount is included in my accounts, this does not contain any personal information.

For all toys I am legally required to uniquely identify each one.  Each one I make is given a model number and the date made and name of who sold to.  This is kept in my CE Testing file in a locked filing cabinet.  I do not keep a digital copy of this.

Requesting a Copy of the Data I hold

You can request a copy of all the data I currently hold on file for you. I am legally required to provide this to you free of charge and within a month of the original request.

Requesting I delete all data I hold

If you want me to delete all information I have on file I am legally required to do so should you request it and the law allows me to.

Website, Blog and Social Media Use

Usage Data

WordPress/Yola may collect information on how the blog/website is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

WordPress will also collect personal data, such as a username and email address, for users wishing to subscribe to this blog via email and for content commenting on blog posts.  There is no requirement for this on the website.

Tracking & Cookies Data

This website along with my WordPress blog and Social Media pages uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on the Service and hold certain information. This also includes interactions with external sites, such as social networks and sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Google+ and any links I provide to external sites eg. Ravelry and any others mentioned in individual blog posts or affiliate adverts.  If you use any of these services I suggest you read their privacy policies too, to familiarize yourself with how they use your data.  I have provided their links at the end of this document.

Cookies are files with small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. Tracking technologies also used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyse my blog/website/social media pages.

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this blog or functions of my website.


If you have subscribed to my blog you will receive an email notification each time a new post is published.  I do not have a newsletter service or send marketing emails or messages via Messenger or any other messaging service including from this website. My only contact may be regarding an order that has been placed while it is being processed.

This Privacy Policy is effective as of 25th May 2018 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.

I reserve the right to update or change this Privacy Policy at any time and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the blog/website after I post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgement of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.

If I make any changes to this Privacy Policy, I will notify you by publishing a blog post about it.
